The State Library subscribes to a collection of databases with an array of resources. The databases provide high-quality publications in an easy to navigate format and contain magazines and newspapers, professional journals, reference books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, E-books, maps and flags, multimedia, pictures and photographs, government reports, primary sources, historic documents, and much more.

The South Carolina State Library maintains an extensive collection of works on African American History and resources for further research.

Grandfamily Resource Centers

GrandFamily Resource Centers, created by the South Carolina State Library in partnership with public libraries in South Carolina, are single locations in a community housing resources for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren.
