The Notable State Documents Awards Program began in 1991 to recognize exemplary state publications and has since expanded to include state government websites, videos, and apps.
South Carolina State Library purchases new KASEMAKE CXD Machine
The State Library has purchased a new KASEMAKE CXD archival box making machine that will allow us to preserve library materials by producing customized archival boxes in-house for library items in the our collection.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) is the state agency responsible for protecting and managing the state’s natural and cultural resources, including fish and wildlife, plants, and special places. With over 1,000 employees across all 46 counties, SCDNR serves as the principal advocate and steward of South Carolina’s natural resources.
South Carolina Literary Landmarks
The South Carolina State Library’s Center for the Book needs your help identifying these key SC Literary Landmarks by nominating your suggestions. Location suggestions will be accepted year-round, and nominees will go to the SC State Library Board for voting.
South Carolina’s Guide to the American Revolutionary War
The South Carolina State Library, in partnership with the South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission (SC250), produced a children’s activity booklet titled “South Carolina’s Guide to the American Revolutionary War”.
New November Electronic State Publications
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) includes the Highway Patrol, State Transport Police, Bureau of Protective Services, Office of Highway Safety and Justice Programs, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame and has approximately 1,300 employees.
