To celebrate Great Outdoors Month, visitors to the State Library may explore federal publications that take them outdoors to explore South Carolina’s rich history through its battlefields, forts, towns, and national park sites associated with the American Revolution.
June’s display features books, pamphlets, and brochures highlighting well-known South Carolina battlefields and historic sites important to the American Revolution.
The highlighted works are:

- Kings Mountain Official Map and Guide brochure
- Kings Mountain National Military Park booklet
- Cowpens National Battlefield South Carolina brochure
- Fort Moultrie and Fort Sumter National Monument brochure
- Fort Moultrie: Constant Defender National Park Service book
- Cowpens: “Downright Fighting” National Park Service book
There are in-depth histories such as The Battle of Camden South Carolina: Historical Statements, The Battle of Kings Mountain and The Battle of Cowpens: Historical Statements.
