The South Carolina State Library is pleased to announce it now provides access to the ProQuest Historical Newspapers: Black Newspaper Collection. This historical newspaper collection provides genealogists, researchers, and scholars with online, easily-searchable first-hand accounts and unparalleled coverage of the politics, society and events of the time. Some of the newspapers included in this collection are the Atlanta Daily World, the Baltimore Afro-American, the New York Amsterdam News, and the Norfolk Journal and Guide. The total years covered in this resource are from 1893 to 2005. South Carolina State Library cardholders may access the collection at the Library's list of online databases.
