Creating Dementia Friendly Libraries

The Music and Memory Dementia Kit contains sensory items and a resource guide.

We believe encouraging equity, diversity, and inclusion in libraries means assisting South Carolina libraries in meeting the needs of various patron bases. Our dementia resources guide offers upcoming training, recordings of previous webinars, and books. Dementia program kits are also available for public libraries to request. Make your library a trusted resource for those dealing with dementia and their caregivers. Register for our Library Services and Partnerships for People with Dementia and Their Caregivers workshop on January 13th.

Author Patricia Brandon and "Rise of the Pale Moon"

February 11, 2026, 5:30 PM

Join us at the next installment of the Speaker at the Center with Author Patricia Brandon where she will discuss her historical fiction novel, "Rise of the Pale Moon." Set against the backdrop of the Revolutionary War era in coastal South Carolina, Rise of the Pale Moon weaves a compelling tale of three young women from distinct backgrounds: an indentured servant from London, a chattel slave raised on the Montague Hall plantation, and a Catawba Indian captured by the Cherokee and traded into slavery.
