Job Description

We have a great career opportunity available for a SCLENDS Coordinator at our Columbia, South Carolina headquarters.

Under the general supervision of the Deputy Director, The SCLENDS coordinator is responsible for oversight of the SCLENDS SirsiDynix Symphony Integrated Library System. Serves as the central and primary liaison for technical support for the consortium from ILS and third party resources. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Makes recommendations to the Executive Board concerning database maintenance, training of member library personnel, and best-practices.
  • Facilitates communication between member libraries, including coordination of projects.
  • Creates and distributes training and trouble-shooting documents. 
  • Assists in training SCLENDS library staff as to how to utilize the SirsiDynix Symphony ILS software and third-party related applications offering advice and assistance as needed under the direction of the Executive Board.
  • Assists with migration implementation; assists new member libraries migrating to SCLENDS on implementation dates. Evaluates the impact of software updates and new versions for SCLENDS library staff.  Recommends training for member library personnel as needed. Receives, reviews, prepares and/or submits various reports and documents, including statistical reports, activity reports, memos, correspondence, etc.
  • Ensures timely follow up, and resolution of, support requests to ILS vendor to ensure that issues are elevated, resolved and documented as required.
  • Facilitate periodic onsite support and training for member libraries.
  • Submit monthly reports to Board.
  • Administers and updates a repository of documentation for the SCLENDS SirsiDynix Symphony implementation to include system configuration, library system specific requirements and policy settings and systems administrator training standards.
  • Tracks and documents all bugs, feature requests and system changes.
  • Facilitates the scheduling of and centralizes all communication for ILS system updates, upgrades, maintenance events, training activities and migration of a new library systems.
  • Develop and maintain best practices and procedures.
  • Work as a team with other member libraries and SCLENDS professionals.
  • Represent the consortium at meetings, conferences, and other events.
Qualifications
  • A Master’s Degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited Library School.
  • Five years of professional library experience. 
  • Project management experience.  
  • Familiarity working with all aspects of Integrated Library Systems (circulation, cataloging, system administration).
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with excellent customer service, prioritization, organization, interpersonal, grammatical, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Previous library experience in a consortium setting is highly valued. 
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
