The Board of Trustees of the Harvin Clarendon County Library is searching for a positive, forward-thinking and service-oriented individual to serve as Library Director in Manning, South Carolina. The position is full-time with both daytime, evening and some Saturday hours. Under the supervision of the Board of Trustees, the director plans, organizes, and manages the operation of the library; performs various administrative duties such as planning, budgeting, personnel management, materials selection, grant preparation, and reporting to the Library Board, the South Carolina State Library, the Clarendon County Council, and other agencies that may be required. The Board would like a director who has excellent leadership and communication skills and the ability to build relationships with community groups, employees, elected officials, private businesses, and non-profit organizations.
Clarendon County Library is located in Manning, SC. The Library serves a population of almost 34,000. The county is made up of one newly consolidated school district, two private schools and a large home-schooled population as well as a large retirement community. The Library is part of a supportive community with active patrons. The Library is a member of the SC LENDS consortium, a group of public libraries in 20 South Carolina counties and the State Library who share resources throughout the State. Manning is a growing community located on Interstate 95 and Lake Marion. It is 2 hours from the coast and conveniently located to Florence, SC, Charleston, SC and Columbia, SC, the state’s capital.
Salary Range: $55,000 to $60,000, plus benefits

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements include:
1. Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited ALA program. Eligible for or currently hold a South Carolina State Library certification.
2. 5 years of experience in managing and supervising in a public library including budgeting and financial oversight, library technology, electronic resources and services, project management and strategic planning.
3. Three professional references.
Highly Desirable:
1. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
2. Ability to build relationships with community groups, employees, elected officials, private businesses, and non-profit organizations.
