Database Access for SCSL Cardholders

African-American History database flyer

Did you know the South Carolina State Library provides cardholders access to over 100 research and reference databases? If you don't already have a library card with us, get one online at our website. Also visit our A-Z Databases online to see all of the amazing and free resources that we work hard to make available to cardholders and through Discus - South Carolina's Virtual Library. We regularly provide access to new databases such as African-American History and Ferguson's Career Guidance Center

The African-American History database covers more than 500 years of the AfricanAmerican experience and offers a fresh way to explore the full spectrum of African-American history and culture. Users can start their investigation of a topic with a video or slideshow overview, use the key content called out on the home page to find an entryway into the database, or dig deep into an era through the Topic Centers.

Ferguson's Career Guidance Center is a comprehensive resource for career exploration and planning organized into three main sections: Industries and Careers, Plan Your Education, and Launch Your Career. It also provides education planning for undergraduate, graduate, nursing, or vocational and tech schools.

Learn more about these and many more resources on our A-Z Databases page.
