New State Documents

A directory that grew from a CPM project, a university magazine with an eye-witness to Iraq, and a sportsman's calendar were some of the new documents received at the State Library  in August.

An especially welcome directory for South Carolinians with disabilities was received this month:  2007 South Carolina Recreation Guide for adults and children with disabilities, by the South Carolina Developmental Disabilities Council (which is a program of the Office of the Governor).  The directory is a “Partial listing” of events and activities, of camps, reading clubs, accessible parks and playgrounds, attractions, state parks and other resources.  Entries include complete contact information  and a short description and are displayed in attractive, larger-than-usual, print.  The 46 page directory is available in the State Documents Reference Room.  Additional copies are available for checkout to our card holders.

Other documents of note are:

  • Coastal Carolina University Magazine, Fall/Winter 2007 issue covers a faculty member on duty in Afghanistan.
  • South Carolina Wildlife Sportsman’s Calendar and Almanac 2007-2008 has beautiful photos, tide charts, sunrise and sunset times, game zones, and other information.  The calendar may be purchased through SC Wildlife.com.
  • 2007 South Carolina Higher Education Statistical Abstract is the official publication detailing enrollment, degrees awarded, faculty, tuition and fees, funding, and other factual data about the institutions of higher learning in South Carolina.  It covers both public and private institutions.

A complete list of documents received in the library this month is posted in the State Documents Shipping List.
