Center for the Book Announces Fall Author Talks and Book Signings

The South Carolina Center for the Book is pleased to announce additional fall author talks and book signings. Please visit the South Carolina State Library's events calendar to register.

Tom Mack, Andrew Geyer and Phillip Gardner: A Shared Voice is a conversation in narrative by twenty-four of the finest fiction writers in America.
October 4, noon -- 1:00 p.m. A total of twenty-four tales, each linked to another by at least three literary elements such as character and setting and theme, make up this first-of-its-kind anthology by writers from Texas and the Carolinas. Books will be available for sale and signing. No registration required.

LuAnn McLane: Read Pink tour with Penguin featuring Pitch Perfect.
October 11, 11:00 a.m. -- 1:00 p.m. (Writing workshop from 11:00 a.m. to noon; Book talk and signing from noon to 1:00 p.m.) LuAnn will discuss writing her Cricket Creek Series and participating in the Read Pink tour where Penguin is donating $25,000 to Breast Cancer Research. Books will be available for sale and signing. Registration required.

Emily Cooper: Discussing writing her book, Queen of the Lost.
November 7, 10:30 a.m. -- noon. Emily's book details the story of Lucy Holcombe Pickens who charmed governors, generals, the tsar, Tolstoy, Freemasons and filibusters, and whose legacies haunted a small town for over 150 years. Books will be available for sale and signing. Registration required.

Susan Boyer: A-Z Writing to Publication featuring Lowcountry Bombshell.
November 18, 11:00 a.m. -- 1:00 p.m. (Writing workshop from 11:00 a.m. to noon; Book talk and signing from noon to 1:00 p.m.) Susan will discuss the ins and outs of writing to publication and will then discuss her book, Lowcountry Bombshell. Books will be available for sale and signing. Registration required.

Kim Boykin: Texture in Writing featuring The Wisdom of Hair.
December 3, 11:00 -- 1:00 p.m. Kim will present an interactive workshop discussing how to make a good story great through creating texture in writing and will discuss her book, The Wisdom of Hair. Attendees should bring the first page of your manuscript. Books will be available for sale and signing. Registration required.
