Piedmont Technical College seeks a qualified academic library director who will be responsible for the college’s library resources and services for students, faculty and staff in Piedmont Technical College’s seven-county service area, including its six county campuses. More specifically, the director is responsible for the following: providing oversight for collection development, evaluation, organization, processing, and cataloging of library materials; managing the library’s budget and library purchasing, both institutional and consortial; supervising and managing the operations, staffing, services and functions of the college library and its county campus sites; managing bibliographic instruction and orientation to students and incorporating library resources into online course offerings; providing training opportunities for faculty; and managing the licensing, updates, evaluation and selection of online services and resources for all students, faculty and staff of the college. An understanding of, and commitment to, the educational philosophy of the public two-year technical college is important.
Graduate degree in library science or in a related field such as learning resources or information technology and a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible related work/teaching experience.
Prefer a master's degree in library science and five (5) years of work-related experience as a librarian or library director in a community or technical college environment.
