We had a wonderful Read-In this year! Thank you so much to everyone who attended and watched our livestream.

Read-In is South Carolina's premier children's reading event that lets students show why kids who read succeed. This exciting event provided an opportunity for students, librarians, parents and other literacy supporters to demonstrate the importance of reading and the need for library services in our communities.

We had a fantastic line up featuring our Grand Marshal, Queen Quet of the Gullah/Geechee Nation. In addition, our presenters included:

  • Davis Wash, Miss South Carolina
  • Helen Prince, SCASL Librarian of the Year
  • Eau Claire High School No Half Steppin' Marching Band
  • National Junior ROTC Color Guard, The Shamrock Navy

If you missed the event, you can watch the recorded livestream below (the parade arrives at the State House around the 18 minute mark and the presentations begin after).
