The History and Archaeology of Fort Motte Traveling Exhibit

Visit the South Carolina State Library to view our new traveling exhibit, courtesy of the South Carolina State Museum.
“The History and Archaeology of Fort Motte” traveling exhibit examines the 1781 siege of Fort Motte, the excavation of the site, and the artifacts uncovered there. Fort Motte, located in present-day Calhoun County, South Carolina, was a British outpost during the Revolutionary War.  Developed by the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum, the exhibit features 13 panels, 12 reproduction objects for display, and 14 reproduction objects to use for hands-on learning.

The exhibit will remain on display until August 31.
