Job Description

The hiring range is $44,000 – $54,375 annually, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The Library provides a competitive benefit package including medical, dental, and vision insurance with supplemental benefit options, NC Local Government Retirement System, and 401(k) employer contributions.

Braswell Memorial Public Library is seeking someone to direct the operations of the Information Services Department including supervising staff, creating schedules, and overseeing all functions of the department. He/she will develop a schedule of program offerings for the public and insure that each member of the department will have opportunities and support to present programs. The incumbent will provide customer service at the Information Service Desk as part of their regular duties. Evening and weekend hours are required. Work is performed under the general direction of the Library Director or Assistant Director.

Work is typically performed while sitting, standing, bending crouching, or stooping. The employee frequently lifts light objects and occasionally lifts heavy objects up to 40lbs. Work has standard vision requirement (with or without correction), ability to speak clearly and hearing (with or without correction) sufficient to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.

Qualifications

Master of Library Science degree or equivalent. One to three years’ experience in library services with a minimum of one year supervisory experience preferred.
