As part of the USC School of Library and Information Science's annual Deans’ and Directors’ Lecture, Lee Rainie, director of internet and technology for Pew Research Center, will visit Columbia on Thursday, April 26. Rainie will discuss how librarians and journalists – as well as other groups dedicated to the advancement of truth – are at a crossroads in America. In particular, he’ll look at the role of librarians and news organizations as the information and social landscape change. Join us at 5:30 p.m. for a reception, followed by our annual awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m. and the lecture at 7 p.m. Free and open to the public.
