Discus (scdiscus.org), South Carolina's Virtual Library and StudySC (studysc.org), the South Carolina State Library's educational website that provides online content to support South Carolina-specific curriculum standards have been updated in time for the new school year. Featuring a new look, these educational websites are now easier to access from a tablet or smartphone.
According to Amanda Stone, Innovation and Digital Librarian at the South Carolina State Library, "We now have a more user-friendly and responsive design carefully built so that users can easily navigate the sites even on small devices."
Discus provides a variety of organized resources, called databases, for individuals of all ages, educational levels and interests. The databases include magazines, professional journals, newspapers, encyclopedias, ebooks, reference material, student and teacher resources, maps, pictures, recommended Web links and multimedia.
StudySC makes available a student-friendly environment arranged by grade level and by subject area where students can find the information they need fast. The website provides access to many South Carolina-specific Web resources for K-12 homework help, projects, and more. StudySC also provides teachers with lesson plans and other content to support classroom activities.
Students, teachers, librarians and parents across the state are encouraged to check out these great online resources!
