Dr. Curtis Rogers discusses art, writing, history, and libraries with award-winning illustrator Sophie Blackall and award-winning author Rita Williams-Garcia at the 2017 StoryfestSC held in Columbia on Saturday, June 3. She has illustrated over thirty books for children including Ruby's WishMeet Wild BoarsPecan Pie BabyBig Red Lollipop, and the Ivy and Bean series and won the 2016 Randolph Caldecott Medal for Finding Winnie: The True Story of the World's Most Famous Bear. Rita Williams-Garcia is an American writer of young-adult novels. She is the New York Times bestselling author of nine novels for young adults and middle grade readers. She has won the 2011 Newbery Honor Award, Coretta Scott King Award, and Scott O'Dell Award for Historical Fiction for her book, One Crazy Summer.
