2026 TBS Art Gallery

Artwork, Different is Beautiful, by Raegan H. 2025 State Librarian Award Winner.

The Talking Book Services (TBS) Art Gallery is a yearly competition open to current South Carolina K-12 students who are blind or visually impaired. Winners are selected in three age groups, and all submitted artworks are recognized in the TBS Art Gallery Awards Ceremony. Each participant also receives a trophy for their outstanding creations.

This year, seven schools participated in the competition and 33 total art pieces were submitted.

Each year, one art piece is chosen to receive the State Librarian Award and remains on permanent display at the State Library. This years winner is "Different is Beautiful" by Raegan H. pictured on the right.

Revolutionary Ghosts with Author and Storyteller, Tally Johnson

Please join us for our next Speaker at the Center talk with award-winning storyteller, author, and folklorist Tally Johnson, who will tell ghost stories from the Revolutionary War period, covering South Carolina from the mountains to the sea. You will learn some of the hidden history of the Revolution via the rich ghostlore of South Carolina, where the Revolution was won.
