For the Library’s youngest customers and their caregivers, plan and present diverse and innovative programs; provide reference and reader’s advisory services; and select and maintain collection materials. The Youth Services Librarian is a dynamic and multifaceted position that requires a blend of library management, customer service, programming, outreach, and collection development expertise. The Youth Services Librarian will work collaboratively with library staff, school personnel, and community organizations to support the library’s mission of fostering a love of reading and learning while meeting the diverse needs of youth patrons. Starting salary $47,645 Will work out of headquarters library at Walhalla, but will serve all locations. Some Saturday and evening work (to 6:00 PM) required. Will also work some at public service desk in Walhalla.
Master's Degree in Library Science or Education, and three (3) years of related work experience; Education may be substituted for experience, but experience may not be substituted for education.
