**Job Summary**
The Web Content and Technology Specialist supports the development and implementation of digital strategies to improve the library’s web presence. The successful candidate will manage and maintain library-specific web systems and services including: Springshare LibApps (LibGuides, LibAnswers, LibCal, and LibWizard), Ex Libris Alma/Primo, and social media including a WordPress blog.
**Responsibilities**
• Creates and maintains accessible web templates and University branding in LibApps software.
• Creates and maintains custom functionality in LibGuides using JavaScript; ensures custom functionality is accessible.
• Conducts web content updates and data clean-up activities, as assigned.
• Provides technical support for library-specific platforms.
• Conducts routine configuration, maintenance, and data clean-up activities in Alma.
• Coordinates with PASCAL and Ex Libris to troubleshoot escalated Alma/Primo technical issues.
• Manages library social media accounts, including creating, soliciting, and posting content on a consistent, scheduled basis.
• Administers library’s WordPress blog, including creating, soliciting, and posting content on a consistent, scheduled basis. Provides technical support for the quarterly publication of the Library Newsletter.
• Provides technical support for two public access library catalog workstations in the Duke Library.
• Collaborates with library colleagues to develop and/or support digital exhibit websites.
• Manages Google Analytics for LibApps software and selected library systems. Creates Google Analytics dashboards.
• Pursues professional development by serving on appropriate committees, attending related conferences and webinars, and staying current with emerging trends.
• Completes performance review process with supervisor to understand job performance expectations and how they fit into Library and University goals.
• Attends divisional and departmental meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
**Salary**
5H Pay Grade: $19.18 - $29.76 per hour. The salary is below the mid-point of this range.
**Minimum Qualifications**
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other relevant degree.
• One or more years of experience in a related role.
• Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining branded websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven track record of proactive improvements in quality and robustness of website content and functionality.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments to achieve organizational objectives.
**Preferred Qualifications**
• Experience as a LibGuides administrator.
• Ability to serve as the Library’s digital accessibility subject matter expert or willingness to engage in appropriate training to develop this expertise.
