Job Description

An employee in this position is responsible for planning, organizing, promoting and executing public library programs and services. With an emphasis on youth, their families and caregivers, and the ability to also service adults 18+. Night and weekend work are requirements depending upon library needs.
Hiring Range: $20.77-$25.96 depending upon qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; Masters in Library Science preferred. Public library experience in, programming, storytelling and children’s services. Or an equivalent combination as demonstrated by several years of prior public library work experience.
Must be able to drive a car and hold a valid driver’s license.

Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, reaching, grasping, fingering, talking, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Must be able to perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally; up to 20 pounds of force frequently; and/or must be able to carry up to 20 pounds up two flights of stairs.

Must possess the visual acuity to use a computer and extensive reading for visual inspection of books and materials at distances close to the eyes, and use of measurement devices.
