Seeking a librarian (MLIS/MLS required) to coordinate adult services. The ideal candidate will have experience in planning programs and workshops, providing reference and research assistance, providing technology instruction, communicating with outside presenters and partners, coordinating system-wide events such as Summer Reading, and providing guidance and leadership to a system-wide team of reference and programming staff.
Responsibilities include coordinating services related to patron technology and adult programming for the library system. Coordinating initiatives and support to branch staff in providing high quality technology classes, programs and resources. Advising on system-level initiatives such as policy and procedure development, and strategic planning. Managing and selecting library materials and collections in accordance with the Collection Development Policy. Developing and coordinating programs, services and collections for staff and patrons. Preparing and recommending related budget requests. Evaluating services, resources, and programs. Analyzing service trends and coordinating recommended changes.Training staff with respect to the duties and proficiences including facilitating technology classes and adult programs. Developing programming standards and providing oversight on programming inititiatives. Instructing staff in the keeping and reporting of statistics.Coordinating programming for the library system including literacy, advocacy, technology literacy, employment, and life long learning. Conducting literacy skills training. Representing the library system by serving on and presenting to various external committees and boards. Ensuring that staff receive the necessary training to achieve system goals. Scheduling training sessions to make sure staff are properly trained in programming, online resources, and technology. Providing mentoring, coaching, and direction as needed.
Salary: $60,212 – $69,244
Minimum Requirement: MLIS/MLS from an ALA accredited college/university.
