The Kershaw County Library, located in the South Carolina Midlands, seeks a dynamic, energetic Library Director with a successful record of leadership, innovation, and community collaboration. The Kershaw County Library provides exceptional patron services and enjoys excellent community support. The library’s $1.1 million budget provides services to the 66,000 residents via the main library headquarters, two branches, a bookmobile and a programming van. Kershaw County has an economically diverse and growing population in an area of small towns and tranquil rural settings. It is a community that values culture, the arts, education, recreation, and its natural resources. Kershaw County offers an opportunity with this position to lead a thriving county library system headquartered in historic Camden, South Carolina. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE: Knowledge of public library management: library technology; electronic resources and services; budgeting and financial oversight; project management; supervision; and strategic planning; MLS degree from an ALA-accredited program and a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in a public library or equivalent. The director will be adept at developing effective public relations and skilled at building relationships with community groups, elected officials, private businesses, nonprofit organizations, and employees.
