Job Description

• Develops objectives and key results for programming and project teams • Coordinates with the Department Heads and Branch Heads to initiate, plan, and implement special topic programming to achieve objectives and key results • Works with Branch and Department Heads to provide guidance on new programs, budgets, contracts, purchase orders and publicity • Maintains awareness of community needs to connect these needs to library programming and services • Updates the program manual as needed • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to programming and budgets for all ages • Performs as project manager for special strategic projects as assigned by the administrative team SALARY: $54,273 minimum yearly and generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited ALA library school with five years of professional librarian experience and three years overseeing programs/projects and administrative responsibilities • Thorough knowledge of professional library principles, procedures, materials and practices with public library experience and supervisory experience • Ability to establish deadlines, monitor progress, develop reports, and facilitate communication among teams • Extensive knowledge of programming for all ages in a public library • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong interpersonal skills that display a positive attitude, cultural sensitivity, and a sense of humor • Strong creative and research skills to bring new ideas and initiatives to the library system • Strong technology skills and ability to work with a variety of devices and audio-visual equipment • Ability to build teams and exercise initiative, independent judgment, and flexibility • Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive to branch locations PRE-EMPLOYMENT TESTING IS REQUIRED.
