Job Description

The Artist-in-Residence is a newly created part time temporary position, which is funded through the South Carolina Arts Commission. The Artist-in-Residence will be provided with workspace at the library and will work with the public to create community art pieces. The Artist will be responsible for determining necessary program supplies and creating art-based learning programs, including programs with visiting summer camps, such as the Union County School District’s Read to Succeed summer camp. The Artist will also be responsible for creating Fall and Spring art showcases, featuring art generated by the community in partnership with the Artist. This is a part time temporary position. Artist will be expected to work an average of 10 hours per week from July 2017 - May 2018. $15.00 - $20.00. Planning and conducting visual arts programs Interacting with the community Creating community-based art work.
