As Federal depository library and the official state depository for all state publications , our library is your source for government documents. We stay in touch with the latest news and collect print and digital publications from South Carolina state agencies and the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO). GPO distributes Federal publications through the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP), and makes that information available to you. An educational series, The FDLP Academy, was created to keep the Federal depository library community informed about U.S. Government information resources and can help you to serve your communities during this time of social distancing. The FDLP Academy offers free webinars on a variety of topics related to government documents. Attendees will receive a certificate for each session that they attend. Closed captioning is available. You will receive access information upon registering.

Author Patricia Brandon and "Rise of the Pale Moon"

May 7, 2026, 5:30 PM

Join us at the next installment of the Speaker at the Center with Author Patricia Brandon where she will discuss her historical fiction novel, "Rise of the Pale Moon." Set against the backdrop of the Revolutionary War era in coastal South Carolina, Rise of the Pale Moon weaves a compelling tale of three young women from distinct backgrounds: an indentured servant from London, a chattel slave raised on the Montague Hall plantation, and a Catawba Indian captured by the Cherokee and traded into slavery.
