SC250—April Feature

As part of National Poetry Month and the South Carolina 250 (SC250) commemoration, this display explores how poetry has been used to express and preserve the meaning of the American Revolution.

Poems written during and after the Revolutionary era reflect the emotions, challenges, and ideals that shaped South Carolina’s early history. By capturing themes of freedom, conflict, and identity, these works helped define how the Revolution was understood in its own time and how it continues to be remembered. This display highlights the role of poetry in shaping historical memory and offers a literary perspective on South Carolina’s Revolutionary past.
