IMLS Museum Grants for African American History and Culture Application and Guidelines Now Available

WASHINGTON, DC--The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is pleased to announce the availability of guidelines and application forms or the 2008 Museum Grants for African American History and Culture, a grant program that increases the institutional capacity and sustainability in the nation's African American museums by building the knowledge, skills, and abilities of staff members and volunteers.

A Digital Library for South Carolina

PASCAL (Partnership for South Carolina Academic Libraries) has received its fourth Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant from the South Carolina State Library.  The $37,000 grant, combined with matching funding from PASCAL, will provide financial support for efforts underway to fully establish a South Carolina Digital Library (SCDL). LSTA funds will provide scanning equipment, a server, part-time staff and training to library and other professionals.

New Salary Printout Available

The State Library has received updated salary information for state employees earning $30,000 and more.  The October 1 printout, supplied by the Office of Human Resources, is available for use in the Library only.  Ask for it at the Information Desk, 1500 Senate Street, Columbia, during our normal hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
