State of the State Address Digital Archive Available Online

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster

On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, Governor Henry McMaster delivered the 2018 State of the State Address before a joint session of the General Assembly. The South Carolina State Library has digitized and made available online a collection of State of the State Addresses, starting from 1853. These addresses have been called “Annual Address to the General Assembly,” “Address,” “State of the State Address,” or other names, but have been used to report the health of the state economically, to recognize events and individuals that impacted the state in the previous year, and to put forth goals for the coming year.
