Learn More About Technology and South Carolina State Library Services

During the month of September, the South Carolina State Library will host training sessions specifically designed for South Carolina state government staff members.

Technology Petting Zoo - Do you want to understand the differences between ereaders and tablets? Drop by the State Library on September 4th or September 19th between 11:30a.m.and 1:30p.m. Attendees will be able to experience different types of ereaders, iPads, Microsoft Surface tablet, Apple iPad 3, Amazon Kindle, Amazon Kindle Fire, Barnes & Noble Nook Color, and Google's Chromebook. There will also be information about pricing, features, and reviews. Attendees will also learn how to download from the State Library's OverDrive ebook collection, with books on governance, technology, business administration, education, and South Carolina-related topics.

Overview of State Library Services - The South Carolina State Library provides research and information services on work-related subjects for South Carolina state agency employees. Learn about the State Library's resources, website, and information services for state employees, and find out more about the South Carolina State Documents Depository Program which provides access to publications produced by state agencies and state-supported academic institutions. Applications for a State Library cards will be available during this one hour lunch and learn session that will take place on Tuesday, September 10 and again on Tuesday, September 24 from noon to 1:00 p.m.
