The State Library is offering a 2-hour class for state employees and librarians in using the legislative research website, www.scstatehouse.gov, and other legislative materials. Attendees will see how to view bills that are submitted to the General Assembly; track actions and versions; find contact information for legislators and committees; find budgets, laws and regulations
Two shipments of state and federal documents have been added to the State Library. This month we received several more agency accountability reports (housed in the Documents Reference room on the first floor) and some titles on a timely subject: South Carolina economy.
The State Library has received the new listing of salaries for state employees (10/1/2008). The two lists, $30,000 through $49,999 and $50,000 and above, are available for library use at the Information Services desk. The lists are arranged by agency code (found at the front of the binder). Pages may be removed for copying.

New federal and state publications have been received at the Library and are available for check out. The State Library now offers two collections of electronic books for state employees to search, browse, and read online. Safari Tech Online contains the full text of 1,448 titles in the field of computer technology, all published within the last three years.
