Mr. Amir Karami is finishing his PhD at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) in May 2015.  He will be joining the USC SLIS faculty in Fall 2015.  Currently, he works at the Maryland DINAMIC Lab and also as an instructor at the UMBC Information Systems Department.  He was a Data Science Consultant for a start-up company in Washington D.C.

The South Carolina Library Association is seeking program proposals for the 2015 Annual Conference that will be held in Columbia, SC on October 21-23 at the downtown Marriott. We encourage submissions from library professionals covering a wide range of topics that appeal to those who work in public, academic, school, and special libraries as well as those who work with groups that support libra

The State Library is pleased to announce the winners for this year's National Library Week #shelfieSC2015 contest!  State Library staff judged all 53 submissions for the contest from all types of libraries across the state and the winning shelfies are:

In celebration of National Library Week (April 12-18 2015), the South Carolina State Library is sponsoring a library shelfie contest.  The contest is open to anyone! Take your library shelfie and submit it in one of the following ways:

Teen Tech Week is a national initiative of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) aimed at teens, their parents, educators and other concerned adults. The purpose of the initiative is to ensure that teens are competent and ethical users of technology, especially the types offered through libraries.

What is the Digitization in a Box Project?

The Digitization in a Box Project allows public libraries in South Carolina to borrow scanning equipment, hardware, and software from the State Library to start a new digitization project.
