As part of the USC School of Library and Information Science's annual Deans’ and Directors’ Lecture, Lee Rainie, director of internet and technology for Pew Research Center, will visit Columbia on Thursday, April 26. Rainie will discuss how librarians and journalists – as well as other groups dedicated to the advancement of truth – are at a crossroads in America.

In support of National Poetry Month, the South Carolina State Library is pleased to announce the nine winners in this year's Young Minds Dreaming poetry contest. These outstanding students will be honored at the South Carolina State Library in Columbia at an award ceremony on Saturday, April 21 at 1:30 p.m.
The House Legislative Oversight Committee is currently conducting oversight studies on twelve state agencies. The Committee has scheduled a meeting on Thursday, April 26, for the purpose of receiving comments from the public about three of these agencies.
