Consulting ServicesThe Library Development Division of South Carolina State Library offers assistance to librarians, trustees, and other interested persons on all aspects of library development, library programming and library operations. In addition to general areas of library service, consultants have expertise in services to children and young adults, library management and planning, advocacy, public relations and marketing, outreach services, and much more. Summer Reading ProgramThe purpose of the Summer Reading Program is to encourage children to enjoy reading during the Summer and to discover some of the many wonderful children’s books available in libraries. Children can join the reading program at their local public library and earn rewards for reading during the school vacation. Continuing Education and Public Library Certification ProgramSouth Carolina State Library provides continuing education, staff development and training courses to library staff and public library trustees throughout South Carolina. Interlibrary LoanThe South Carolina State Library provides interlibrary loan services to supplement the local resources of South Carolina libraries.
