The South Carolina State Documents Depository Program provides access to publications produced by state agencies and state-supported academic institutions.

The South Carolina Code of Laws 60-2-10 requires that these institutions provide the State Library with 15 copies of publications for dissemination to 11 depository libraries in South Carolina and the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Items in the Documents Depository Program include print publications and “born digital” documents often originally published on agency websites.

• South Carolina State Documents Depository Library Manual (pdf)
  The Depository Library Manual is intended to aid libraries in the depository system in the process and servicing of SC state documents.
• Notable Documents Award
  Annually the South Carolina State Depository System selects ten notable publications that were released in the past calendar year.
• List of Depository Libraries
  Publications in the Depository Program are distributed to 11 depository libraries in South Carolina and to the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
• South Carolina Electronic State Documents
  In 2005 the State Library began harvesting agency publications that had been published in electronic format.
• Statement of Rights
  The South Carolina State Library considers records, documents, and information made available by the agencies of South Carolina to be in the public domain.
