The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation featured the Carvers Bay Branch Library of the Georgetown County Library system in a short documentary project showcasing success stories on how computers and the Internet in public libraries can positively impact citizens’ lives. 

The staff of the South Carolina State Library is presenting a series of classes to assist state agency employees with finding information.  The classes will give overviews and tips on specific topics related to online searching and to services available at the State Library.

We are pleased to announce the online publication of the 2005 - 2006 Annual Report from the South Carolina State Library.  The report chronicles a year of change, challenges and accomplishments.  The agency's mission is to provide, advance and promote excellent library services and equal access to information for all South Carolinians.   

On December 5, 2006, the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice issued the first installment of a new technical assistance document designed to assist state and local officials to improve compliance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in their programs, services, activities, and facilities. 

The National Council on Disability has released "Over the Horizon: Potential Impact of Emerging Trends in Information and Communication Technology on Disability Policy and Practice."
