Job Description

The Richland Library seeks a Maintenance Technician. This individual is energetic and outgoing, with a positive attitude. The individual we seek is a dependable individual who strives to give excellent customer service, and possesses great communications and organizational skills. This individual will be responsible for a wide range of Operations Department duties including minor maintenance work, processing of materials, setting up conference rooms for various meetings/programs. Here are some of the things you would be doing if serving in this position: * Assembling and installing library equipment. * Performing minor electrical repairs on light fixtures. * Assisting in the maintenance of library vehicles. * Under direction, troubleshooting and repairing a wide variety of mechanical and electrical equipment and systems. * Delivering books, supplies, furniture, appliances, money, and other materials to designated locations. * Receiving, processing, and delivering mail and parcels. * Verifying receipt of materials against packing lists and purchase orders. * Maintaining library grounds. * Arranging rooms for meetings. * Performing various other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications

* High school education or equivalent combination of training and experience. * Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Copy of driving record must be provided upon hire. * Physical strength to lift and handle heavy boxes, equipment, etc.; ability to move around easily and continuously. * Some experience in maintenance work highly desirable; aptitude for maintenance work required. * Ability to perform the job.
