The SC State Library is pleased to host a free "Introduction to Sign Language" workshop.  This fun and interactive training covers 30+ single ASL signs, the manual alphabet, and numbers 1-10. Participants will learn and practice the signs and receive professional tips for teaching signs to children. This workshop educates learners on how sign language can encourage speech and language development, enhance overall communication and reduce frustration for children who are not yet able to effectively communicate using speech. All are welcome to attend.

All participants receive a Certificate of Attendance and educators may be eligible for Continuing Education credits, depending upon the district in which they are employed. Please contact your district office for more information on whether or not this workshop qualifies for continuing education credits.

Learn more on the value of attending this workshop by reading the article "5 Benefits of Learning Sign Language" by Jill Eversmann, MS, CCC-SLP, Speech-Language Pathologist and instructor of this workshop.

This is a FREE workshop, however, registration is required to ensure seating availability. Click here to register online today!
