State Library to provide free training to public library managers on PLA's Project Outcome

project outcome

Be a part of a cohort of public libraries interested in implementing Project Outcome to drive change, influence decision making, and demonstrate the true impact of the library’s programs and services on the community. This important workshop will be held at the SC State Museum on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The goal of Project Outcome, a PLA initiative, is to help public libraries understand and share the true impact of essential library services.  This understanding can improve the way public libraries do business – from allocating existing resources more efficiently to advocating for new resources more effectively. In this training, a Project Outcome trainer will facilitate a deep-dive into outcome measurement using Project Outcome tools. You will learn how to define outcomes, collect project data, and use resulting data.

This workshop is intended for: Public library directors, managers, supervisors or staff who are interested in collecting and reporting meaningful data about library activities and projects.  It is also for staff who will be using Project Outcome as a reporting tool for library activities.  Libraries may send up to 3 staff members per public library system. If you'd like to send more than three, please contact Kathy Sheppard at 803-734-8653 or ksheppard@statelibrary.sc.gov.
