Friends of the Sumter County Library Announce New Endowment

Endowment to be named for former Library Director, Faith Line

Sumter, SC -- The Friends of the Sumter County Library announced the formation of a new endowment named after former library director, Faith Line. The endowment will officially be announced at the Friends Author Event on February 6, 2011 at 2 pm at the Main Library, where Line will be recognized for her contributions to the Sumter County Library.

"We are thrilled to be taking this step forward. This allows the Friends a means to be good stewards of the donations and proceeds we receive from our annual book sale, Forrest Ray 5K, and other events," says Linda Nock, president of the Friends. "And we thought it very appropriate to name the endowment after someone who spent many years devoted to the Sumter County Library, and that is our former director, Faith Line."

The endowment will fund programs and book purchases for the library. This endowment will also more easily facilitate donations of stocks and other bequests. Donations in honor of or in memory of someone can be made to the Endowment through the Friends of the Library.
