Job Description

The Anderson County Library is seeking a motivated and experienced people leader for the position of Circulation Manager. 
Working under the immediate direction and supervision of the Assistant Library Director, the Circulation Manager is responsible for delivering outstanding patron experiences at the Main branch in Anderson S.C.
Responsibilities include daily supervision of the circulation staff, timely processing of Library materials borrowed by patrons and resolution of escalated patron concerns by: 

•    Coordinating the fair division of Circulation Department duties and functions to maximize efficiency.
•    Responsible for leading the Circulation Department in balancing patron adherence to policy with patron satisfaction.
•    Handles patron complaints and answers questions from patrons referred by other library staff.  Exercises independent judgment in policy exception for escalated patron concerns. 
•    Implements training of employees in Circulation, other departments and the branches in order to provide good, effective library service. Trains all new Library employees in circulation policy and procedure.  Acts as the department’s cross-training representative with other Library departments.
•    Assists with collection development; ie. weeding, lucy day, main lease plan.
•    Assists with book displays in respective areas.
•    Assists Adult Services with book club services.
•    Other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time position; in addition to the base salary, medical, dental, and paid time off are included in total compensation. Salary range: $36,000-$41,000

Qualifications

Required Minimum Qualifications
•    Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.
•    Two (2) years of experience in the Anderson County Library, preferred.
•    Circulation Department or Branch Library experience preferred.
•    Training or supervisory experience preferred.
•    Excellent customer service skills.
•    Excellent computer skills, ability to perform detailed and precise work; knowledge of and ability to adhere to library policies and procedures, with an emphasis on circulation; ability to set priorities and manage workloads; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and all library employees; ability to handle multiple projects at the same time; ability to exercise independent judgment; ability to effectively supervise staff.
