Job Description

Under limited supervision, plans and promotes activities at two York County Library branches and Rock Hill Library in order to ensure the effective development and presentation of youth programs and services. Selects and purchases books and materials appropriate for children and teens. Maintains the collection. Routinely researches and recommends new websites for the children’s web pages. Promotes special events and participates in activities that promote reading and the use of the County Library.

Qualifications

Requires a Master’s degree in Library Science from a college or university accredited by the American Library Association and supplemented by one to two years of relevant library experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Background in early childhood or elementary education preferred.
