Full time position. Reporting to the Training and Development Coordinator. This position coordinates all training activities under the supervision of the Training Coordinator. Design and conduct new employee orientation and staff training; develop and construct training manuals and training aids; coordinate participation of external training programs for library staff; maintain training attendance records. Other duties as assigned. Must have stamina for walking, standing, prolonged sitting, reaching, bending, stooping and kneeling. A valid South Carolina driver’s license with a safe driving record. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Extensive knowledge of principles and practices of Training and Employee Development; basic statistical and record keeping processes. Ability to relate and maintain strict confidentiality and sensitivity to all employees; to work tactfully and effectively with employees, the general public and officials. Ability to assume additional responsibilities as needed to maintain departmental operations. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to work as part of a team and to carry out assignments independently. Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus. REQUIREMENTS: Master of Library Science Degree preferred with courses in human resources training and development programs or closely related field and five (5) years of experience in Training and Development. Hiring Salary Range: $41,433.60 - $46,633.60 annually depending on qualifications.
