Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Head Librarian, this position will work collaboratively to support current and emerging technologies and to coordinate the library’s online presence. This position will contribute to the library’s mission of providing equity in access to users by supporting the migration to, and maintenance of, the library services platform (Alma) and the discovery platform (Primo). This position will work with PASCAL SLSP staff, ExLibris staff, and college IT staff to resolve issues and improve library staff and user experience (UX).

This position will be the primary cataloger for the library and will be responsible for the cataloging of all library materials, will perform original and copy cataloging based on current standards, database maintenance, and authority control. This position also resolves cataloging problems and aids in the maintenance of the online catalog.

This position also includes general library duties as follows: reference, circulation, instruction, collection development, access services, technical services, and outreach to students, faculty, and staff.

Qualifications

Graduate degree in library science with coursework in library cataloging and classification or equivalent work experience in original and copy cataloging using the Library of Congress classification system.
