Job Description

Collaborate with faculty to design and teach classroom and online instruction. Perform liaison duties including collection development and library instruction. Create and manage LibGuides. Provide reference assistance, with occasional evening and weekend work. Supervise Public Services (Front Desk) - Circulation, Reserves, Public Computers, Copiers, Room Reservations, etc., as needed. Open and close the library as needed. Must be able to be the sole person in charge of the library when needed and be able to handle all problems that arise.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Library Science from an accredited institution. Knowledge of all activities involving Reference, both traditional and online. Knowledge of current library instruction and information literacy best practices. Knowledge of library technology, including current trends and innovations. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication, computer, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with the college environment. Ability to train library faculty and staff and implement new library technologies. Ability to work closely with faculty to cooperatively develop the library collection, instruction, and research assignments. Other skills – Supervisory, computer, database, library research, problem solving, public speaking, classroom instruction, and interpersonal.
