As a circulation supervisor, you will be a member of the management team for a regional library who contributes to our inviting and innovative link to the world. Responsibilities include supervision of circulation support staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and overseeing workroom operations. You will maintain statistical records of your department and recommend policy and procedural changes to the Regional Branch Manager or Main Library’s Circulation Services Manager. As a natural leader, you will ensure that circulation policies and procedures are implemented effectively, and will create a fresh approach at managing and resolving both operational and personnel issues. Since you are a person who enjoys working with diverse customers of all ages, you will seek out ways to solve customer problems and create win-win situations. You are the key model for outstanding customer service for your staff and the champion of building a positive team spirit.
Bachelor’s degree; 3 years library or related experience, or 2 years (60 credit hours) of college plus 5 years of experience in a related area. High aptitude for library service; thorough understanding of basic aims and services of libraries; good judgment; accuracy, tact, flexibility; ability to get along well with others. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office suite. Must be able to troubleshoot and communicate maintenance needs for computers and library equipment. Must be flexible to assume additional responsibilities as needed to maintain branch operations. Evening and weekend hours included.
