Trident Technical College’s library system is seeking to fill a full-time librarian position. Duties include, but are not limited to, collaborating with faculty to provide digital services focusing on open educational resources (OERs) and affordable course materials; providing bibliographic instruction through the embedded librarian service, creating and conducting online workshops, and providing online reference services using online database searching and electronic books.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with virtual reference tools and online course management / learning management systems (i.e. D2L, Blackboard) is preferred. Knowledge of current trends in OER, open education, and digital resources. Knowledge of current laws and trends in copyright, fair use, intellectual property, and open licensing (e.g., Creative Commons).Experience with the Springshare Suite of tools (e.g. Libguides, LibAnswers, LibChat, LibWizard). Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidate must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology. This position is based at the Thornley Campus Library and has scheduled hours on campus and working remotely.
This position requires a master’s degree in library and/or information science from an accredited library school and two (2) years related experience.
