The Smithsonian is Coming to South Carolina!

SC Humanities is pleased to announce a special South Carolina tour of Crossroads: Change in Rural America, an exhibition from the Smithsonian Institution. Developed as part of the Museum on Main Street (MOMS) program, this exhibit is designed especially for small cultural organizations and rural audiences that lack regular access to traveling exhibitions due to space and cost limitations.

New Summer Reading Art Gallery

Come celebrate the start of summer by visiting the South Carolina State Library’s new Summer Reading art gallery, on display till July 31! This gallery contains original art by eight award-winning children’s authors and illustrators, including Denise Fleming, Peter Brown, Marc Brown, Bryan Collier, David Diaz, Brian Lies, and John Rocco. Most of the artwork was commissioned to celebrate StoryfestSC, an annual event meant to boost children’s literacy. Want to see the gallery? Visit the SCSL Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
