New Electronic Books Available PDF Print E-mail

The State Library now offers two collections of electronic books for state employees to search, browse, and read online.  Safari Tech Online contains the full text of 1,448 titles in the field of computer technology, all published within the last three years. O'Reilly, Microsoft Press, Sams, and Que are some of the publishers included.  Safari Business Books Online includes 313 titles related to business and management.  Some publishers included are AMACOM, ASTD, Wharton School Publishers, and FT Press.

More bibliographic resources in nursing, medicine and health have been added to the online databases for state employees.  Using your card number you can access these databases from work or home.  The databases increase the quality and quantity of fulltext information for employees who need medical and health information beyond the consumer level.

Federal documents received this month include some detailed statistical sources and a long-awaited atlas.

Statistical Abstract of the United States:  2008  C3.134:2008
            This is the latest of this major compendium of statistics on the US.  Information comes from all federal agencies and sources are cited for the tables.  The library has both print and CD copies of this title.  It is also available online at http://www.census.gov/compendia/statab.
