The SC Center for the Book Selects Murder on Edisto for 2016 Route One Reads Initiative

For the second consecutive year, the SC Center for the Book will participate in the Route One Reads initiative, a program under the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. 

In 2016, the theme of the initiative will be mysteries, and the selected book to represent South Carolina is Murder on Edisto by SC author, C. Hope Clark.

Prominent 19th century botanist Henry William Ravenel’s plant specimens, journals reunited online

Two hundred and two years after the May 1814 birth of Henry William Ravenel, a 19th century South Carolina planter and botanist, a dedicated team from North Carolina and South Carolina universities and colleges has made his manuscripts and collections available online.

2016 Teen Video Challenge Winners Announced

The Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) recently announced the winners of the 2016 Teen Video Challenge.  The Teen Video Challenge is a national competition for teens to get involved with reading and their public library's summer reading program.  Winning videos were selected at the state level to be recognized as an official CSLP Teen Video Challenge winner for 2016.
